SQI is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ross Symonds to the new role of Chief Executive Officer.
With over 30 years’ management and leadership experience in the sport and recreation sector, Ross comes to Softball Qld with proven skills at both strategic and operational levels.
Having worked at state and national levels of sport, as well as experience working in the State Government and university sector, Ross has a deep insight into the sporting landscape from grass roots to high performance and what is required to enable a highly successful and engaging environment for our sport to grow and develop.
He has vast experience at CEO and senior management levels and is ideally suited to provide the high level leadership of Softball Queensland.
“I look forward to improving on the sport’s current plans and bringing new ideas to Softball that will help grow the participation base and increase its profile”, states Ross.
According to Mark Jeppesen, Softball Queensland President, the organisation “was in a great position to grow with the appointment of Ross, a highly skilled and experienced sports administrator”.
“The experience that Ross brings to us will make the transition following the retirement of long term and highly regarded General Manager Sue Nisbet much easier”.
SQI warmly welcomes Ross to our community, and look forward to the future under his leadership.
