The Female Facilities Program aims to assist sport and recreation organisations and local governments to develop functional and inclusive female change rooms and amenities that meet the current and future needs of sport and recreation participants.
Under the Queensland Government Female Facilities Funding program, two District Associations, Noosa and Suncoast-Hinterland, were successful in their applications. Funding of up to $500,000 was available to any one organisation. This is a significant success for softball and an acknowledgment of the hard work their volunteers put into developing their facilities.
We congratulate the Associations and look forward to seeing their upgrades!
Noosa Softball will use the funding to upgrade their female change rooms and amenities, construct an undercover area and install safety lighting to support female participation in softball at $199,996
Suncoast-Hinterland will upgrade amenities including change rooms, toilets, showers and a parents’ room to support female participation in softball (and football) at Mooloolah – $476,946
