Growing Participation

Growing membership of clubs and associations is vital to ensure the sport continues to be an active part of the community.  There are many options available to clubs and associations to look at increasing membership from recruitment programs and introducing social competitions.

Social Competitions

Any club or association in Queensland can hold a social competition either in conjunction with the normal season or during the off season. A club can hold a social mixed competition at any suitable venue including club grounds, school oval, other sporting ovals.

Recruitment Programs

There are numerous recruitment activities clubs can hold to increase participation.

Children aged 4-12yrs can get involved in Softball through;

  • Have a Go Days – run through schools or through local Softball clubs and associations (open to adults also)
  • Swing into Softball – Junior / Amateurs Competition run through local Softball clubs and associations
  • Softball Batter Up Program –  program to introduce kids to the game of softball (pack includes a glove and ball)
  • Holiday Clinics / Camps

Looking ways to promote your club or association in the community? Below is some ideas

Facebook ads (paid ads on Facebook to a targeted audience)

Posts in local community groups – Facebook groups, noticeboards

Family fun days – clubs can hold these at any location e.g. local parks

Flyers distributed to your local – consider electronic advertising on their website or e-newsletter rather than hard copy flyers

Market stalls – contact your local markets and invest in a stall to promote to your local community
